Time well spent

Posted on May 7, 2025October 12, 2026 By Sam Wise

7th May

Quick update as promised. My first consultant appointment on Tuesday, for my colorectal cancer, was a waste of time. Spent over an hour waiting for my appointment, having to endure listening to daytime TV! The mental state of someone who voluntarily watches it… anyway, my hospital hadn’t done the referral correctly, hadn’t sent my test results through and the appointments secretary at King’s shouldn’t have booked an appointment for me. The nice nurse I saw (not consultant!) apologised profusely and said they would discuss my case next Wednesday and they would call me next Thursday. Was it not for the fact I had my monthly liver consultant appointment in the afternoon I would have been mildly miffed.
