Hopeful

Posted on August 19, 2025October 3, 2026 By Sam Wise

19th August

Hello all,

Annoyingly this won’t be my last health update. I popped up to King’s today. Histology of the bit they cut out of me does some show some localised spreading of the cancer and they found cancer cells in four of the 13 lymph nodes they removed. The good news is that there is no evidence that the cancer has spread around my body. I’ve now been referred to the oncology unit at Maidstone for a consultation and possible chemotherapy. One bit of good news, my trips up to King’s have been reduced by 50% as the colorectal team don’t want to see me again. May not have helped when I pointed out that Mr Haq incisions reminded me of the zigzag paths that some of you may remember from Bournemouth when compared to Mr Harkeem and his beautiful straight scars.
